Jeanie Roland, Chef-Owner
Chef Roland has presided in the kitchen of ELLA'S Food and Drink since day one and creates memorable experiences for her diners.
A graduate of the culinary arts program at the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY, she has a huge following in Punta Gorda at Roland's "The Perfect Caper" restaurant, one of Southwest Florida's top restaurants, as well as now in the Westerly, Rhode Island area. She has hosted numerous cooking classes to sold-out rooms. She was invited to Hong Kong to display her cooking skills and talent. Roland is also working on a cookbook, 'Cooking at the Caper' and expects to have it available for the New Year.
In 2012, wanting to get closer to her family and roots, Jeanie opened ELLA'S Food and Drink in Westerly, Rhode Island with her husband James. ELLA'S is a 200-seat restaurant located in this coastal community, featuring some of Jeanie's whimsical menu ideas from Florida, but mainly featuring the fabulous local fare from the New England area.
Chef Roland, in addition to many successful jobs in the industry, was previously the Corporate Chef for IMPAC, a worldwide consulting firm based Punta Gorda. While with IMPAC, Roland travelled the world, from Malaysia to China and throughout Europe, bringing cultural cuisine to business and political leaders.
